Public results
SwimDesk is a coach's desk first. A second, public side of the site will list clubs and official meet results. That side is not searchable yet. This page is the rule it will follow when it is, so the rule exists before anyone can open a table to the world.
Two sides
The desk holds practices, attendance, test times, birth dates, and the roster a coach types. Claiming a club on the registry, or administering its public page, never opens that desk. Another coach cannot read your season by putting the same club name on a public page.
The public side, when it opens, may show only what already appeared in a completed official meet result: name, clubs, the club's city and state, the race, the time, the course, place, the meet and its date. High school grade and graduating class where they already apply to the programme. Nothing else.
What never goes out
- An age, a birth date, or an age worked out from one.
- Home address, school address, or contact details.
- Attendance as a percentage, training, or test times from practice.
- Entries, scratches, or times taken on the deck before they are unofficial or official on the meet.
- Anything typed in a coach's workspace that did not appear in an official result, unless a field is set to Public.
- Internal coach notes. Those stay on the desk.
Unofficial and official
A live meet page may show unofficial times from the deck — labelled unofficial — so a parent on a second phone can follow the heat. Official times are what the referee signed. They are the number that updates personal bests, records, scores, and public career pages. The two are never shown as the same thing.
A QR on Operate is a second device. Unsigned phones see the snapshot in the copied link; signed-in copies of this desk pick up the live projection as it republishes. Anonymous internet search of live CoreNet is not open yet.
Per-field visibility
Times, meet results, awards, achievements, attendance recognition, and recruiting contact each have their own audience: public, recruiters, team, family, or private. A parent opens an emailed link, then decides which clubs may see yardage and tests. Named attendance achievements may publish; a raw attendance percentage never does.
Public athlete pages are a career — personal bests, the ladder that got them there, and an achievement feed. They are not indexed for search. Open one from a meet, a club page, or a link the coach copied.
Publishing is opt-in
A club's own admin turns publishing on. Until then, official results may still be recorded so the desk has one career time — they are not listed for the public. Only completed official results are ever offered for a public page. Turning publishing off hides them again.
When two clubs at a dual send the same host file, the meet is one meet. The host's own upload is the one that counts; the other fills gaps. A whole bad upload can be withdrawn.
Children
Public club, meet, league, and athlete pages will not show ages. Individual swimmer pages are not offered to search-engine indexing. An honoured opt-out hides a swimmer from public search.
Opting out
A parent, a swimmer, or a coach can ask that a person not appear in public search or on a public club page. That does not take them off their own team's desk. Email support@swimdesk.us with the swimmer's name and, if you have it, their USA Swimming ID. A coach signed in under the club can record the same request from the desk.
Search is not open yet. Requests are kept so they are already in force on the day it is.
Accounts
Coaches sign in. Athletes and parents do not need an account to read a public meet page when those pages exist. Claiming a public club is not an invitation into anybody's workspace. See Privacy for the desk, sign-in, and deletion.
